Learn to LOVE Yourself!

Self image and self confidence is something I’ve always struggled with, along with the majority of the female population. I’ve never been the girl all the guys swooned over, I’ve never been the girl that other girls were jealous of, I don’t have big boobs, I don’t have the best body, I don’t have the cutest clothes, and I barely even know how to do makeup or fix my hair. When I look in the mirror I only see the things I don’t like. Being in the fitness industry it makes it even harder because I feel like I have to make sure I always look 100% because I need to be a walking image of what I can offer my clients. When I don’t see the results I want to see I get discouraged and pick out everything that’s wrong. This is something I’ve always needed to work on and something I will continue to work on the rest of my life but I am striving to learn to love myself and the way I look. I’m writing this blog because I know that there are a lot of girls out there that deal with self confidence and self image and I hope to inspire you girls to learn to love yourselves and your body because God made you the way you are and you are all beautiful!

Growing up, us girls have always compared ourselves to other girls who are skinnier, have bigger boobs, a bigger butt, cuter clothes or better makeup and hair. Even the media tells us that the pretty girls are the ones with the perfect bodies and the perfect face. Have you ever seen a girl with a little extra weight, no makeup, messy hair, or even fully clothed on the front cover of a magazine? No, probably not!

Females are looked at as sex objects in today’s society. Most girls feel like they can’t leave their house without makeup, cute clothes, or their hair done because they have to impress guys 24/7. And don’t forget our clothes have to be super tight, really short, or revealing to make guys attracted to us! All we ever see is women who walk around half naked with their hair done and a full face of makeup. The media even advertises women who go to the gym wearing short shorts, a skimpy sports bra, hair down, a full face of makeup, and not even a bead of sweat on their face. THAT IS NOT REAL LIFE!!!!

Don’t get me wrong I love to dress up and put on makeup and look good but I also love to throw my hair up in a ponytail, put on those oversized sweats, take off my bra and put on that oversized t-shirt I’ve worn for the past 4 years and sit on the couch and relax. And when I go to the gym I plan on sweating, as much as I like to tell myself I sparkle….I don’t….I SWEAT! The gym is where I work on my fitness and try to build up my self confidence, not where I go to try to impress people with my looks. If any guy thinks I’m going into the gym wearing booty shorts, a sports bra with my boobs falling out, my hair down, and a full face of makeup, then he’s going to be disappointed! You shouldn’t be going into the gym trying to impress anybody! You should be going in the gym to focus on yourself!

From here on out, stop worrying about impressing others and start focusing on loving yourself! It’s perfectly okay for you to leave the house without an ounce of makeup on. It’s okay for you to go to the gym and sweat more than the guy (or girl) next to you because guess what, that means you’re working hard! And it’s definitely okay to go out in sweats and a t-shirt from time to time! Stop exhausting yourself by trying to impress everyone everywhere you go. Start loving yourself and how you look with or without makeup on, in cute clothes, sweats or in workout clothes, and in the gym getting your sweat on! It’s important to learn to love yourself because if you don’t love yourself you will never be happy!

Here’s some things we can all do to boost our self confidence:

  • Point out the things you like about yourself when you look in the mirror
  • Surround yourself with people who lift you up
  • Put posted notes around your room and on your mirrors that say “YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL”
  • Constantly remind yourself that God made you, and everything He has made is beautiful
  • DO NOT compare yourself to other girls, we are all different!
  • Stop caking on the makeup, I promise you, you are a lot more beautiful with less makeup…..“Less is more!”
  • Find a guy who loves you for who you are, who loves you with makeup on and dressed up, who loves you without makeup on and in sweats, and who loves you even when you sweat (sorry guys we don’t sparkle) in the gym!

Why Me?

Do you ever wonder “Why me God?” Now I know were not supposed to question or second guess what God is doing in our lives but I know that we all have asked that exact question at some point in time.

Maybe you ask “Why me God” because you failed that exam you studied days for, or you messed up that presentation you’ve worked so hard on. Maybe you ask “Why me God” because of a sport injury that put you out of a couple games or even a season. Maybe you ask “Why me God” because everything in general just hasn’t seemed to be going right in your life lately.

Sometimes we question what God is doing in our lives because at that exact moment we don’t see the reason for what is happening. But God ALWAYS knows what he is doing. There is always a reason behind every good and bad thing that happens in our lives and it’s important to always trust in God and have faith in Him and His plan. God gives the toughest battles to His strongest soldiers and He will never make you go through something that you cannot handle. So keep in mind that the trials and tribulations you are going through now, will only bring blessings to you later, just trust in Him and have faith.

God places obstacles along your journey to prepare you for the blessings that await you at the finish line.

For anyone wondering “Why me?” here are some verses for trials and tribulations:

Philippians 4:13I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength.

Romans 5:3– We also have joy with our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience.

Jeremiah 29:11“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Romans 12:12- Be joyful in hope, patient in tribulation, faithful in prayer.

1 Peter 5:10- And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

James 1:12- Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trail, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

Wear your tragedies as armor, not shackles.

So this morning I woke up and I was in the mood for some pancakes….protein pancakes of course! For All Of You Diet Soda Drinkers

Most people think that by switching to diet sodas they are being healthier, makes sense right?! Wrong!

Yes, diet soda may be calorie free and it satisfies your sweet tooth with its artificial sweeteners instead of the real sugar found in regular sodas. But those artificial sweeteners are actually confusing your body. Artificial sweeteners have a stronger taste than real sugar. After drinking diet sodas for a long period of time the artificial sweeteners dull your senses to the taste of naturally sweet foods. Artificial sweeteners actually have the same effect on your body as real sugar does. They send your body into fat storage mode which ends up leading to weight gain. A lot of people start to drink diet sodas when they start a new diet and want to lose weight but diet soda can actually lead to weight gain, not weight loss. Just because the word ‘diet’ is in it’s name does not mean that it is healthy and that it’s going to help you lose weight! Most people also think that since they are substituting a regular soda with a diet soda that they can still eat that Big Mac from McDonalds. Wrong again!

There has actually been evidence that diet sodas are part of the reason why people are getting diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. If you drink a diet soda daily you are increasing the risk of Type II Diabetes by over 50%.

Bottom line is, diet soda is no better for you than regular soda is! You know what is better for you? WATER!!!! Start to limit yourself daily to the amount of diet sodas you can drink and replace those sodas with a glass of water. If you really can’t stand the taste of water then add lemons or other kinds of fruit for a little bit of taste. I bet that if you stop drinking diet soda and drink water instead that you will see a difference and feel a difference! No soda is better than any soda! I like to look at it as drinking soda is like drinking a chemical! Water is the best kind of drink you can have and guess what…the more you drink water, the more your body will crave it just like you have ended up craving your diet sodas! So stop drinking diet soda or any kind of soda at all! That is one way of how you can start to be healthier!

Grind Time

It’s grind time!

It seems like everything always falls on the same week. Going into this week I had three quizzes, a CPR practical, an Anatomy exam, a paper, and multiple homework assignments due. I also have realized that I have 23 days until I go on a cruise for spring break! Which means it’s GRIND TIME!

Every time I would come home from class I would tell myself I was going to study all night but then I always ended up getting distracted by social media or TV. Luckily, so far this week I have made a 100 on all three of my quizzes and a 90 on my CPR practical (which means I am now CPR certified). My Anatomy exam is Friday which means I have ONE more day for me to cram all of the material into this little brain of mine and ace that exam! I also found my new study spot tonight!! A little cute, quaint coffee shop on campus that just opened up called Pressed. I’m actually really excited to go study tomorrow night at Pressed because I won’t have any distractions and they make the best coffee I have ever had! (Even better than Starbs). Shhh, don’t tell Starbucks! I think having this study spot will help me to really buckle down and get all of my studying done and get that 4.0 this semester!

Since the beginning of this semester I have been busting my butt in the gym to look my best for the cruise! Now that there’s only 23 days left until the cruise I’m going to have to kick it into high gear! Last night I went to bed with a headache and this morning I woke up with a headache. I felt awful but I still got up at 7 am and went to the gym. My head was pounding through my whole entire workout but I pushed through it. I killed my arms and then I was still able to get 10 minutes of sprints in and some abs before I went home and took a nap. Although my head was killing me and I was feeling awful I made sure that it didn’t ruin my workout. I’m in grind mode and I’m not going to let anything stop me from getting to where I want to be!

So for anyone who feels stressed and like they will never be able to get everything done, you can! Go find somewhere with no distractions where you can get all of your work done. If you set your mind to sitting down for a certain amount of time with no distractions you can do everything you need to do! That is one thing I am going to really start working on is taking all of my school work to Pressed and sit down for an hour or two with no distractions and get all of my work done! No more slacking off, it’s time to get work done!

And for all of you who are unmotivated to get in the gym….GO! No matter how bad you don’t want to go to the gym or don’t want to do your workout once you get started you’ll get in the grind and you won’t want to stop until you’re finished. And once you have finished your workout you will feel ten times better than if you skipped your workout. So stay motivated, get in the gym, KILL that workout, look good and feel good! And let’s get Moore fit!!!!

Your body is a temple, treat it that way!

“The only bad workout is the one you didn’t do!”

Here It Goes

This is my first blog post and I have a feeling that it’s going to be pretty bumpy, but hang with me because I’ll get better! I decided to create a blog to write about my journey into the fitness industry. So I hope that you all will keep up with me and my journey and soon become just as excited about it as I am! 🙂

I am majoring in Exercise Science and minoring in Marketing at Youngstown State University. Over the past year I have realized what a lot of my dreams and aspirations are! Over Thanksgiving break I got certified for personal training, but this is only the beginning of what I want to achieve. I want to start to online train people. With this, I would send out a form that the client would fill out to let me know whether they want to lose fat or gain muscle and what level of fitness they are at (beginner, intermediate, advanced). Then I would create a workout plan for them weekly and send it to them. My clients would be able to email me or text me through out the week whenever they need help with anything and I would try my best to check in throughout the week to see how they are doing. I would also give them their set calorie intake including their macros. (Macros will be explained in another post soon). By doing online training it will allow me to have some kind of income but also let me have enough time to study for all of my classes and do well in school. Once I graduate college I want to go to graduate school to get my Master’s in Athletic Training. Then I want to open up my own training studio where I would train my clients.

Although I have never spent anytime in front of the camera professionally or even for fun, I would love to do some fitness modeling! Hopefully I will be doing my first (practice) photo shoot sometime soon. Right now I am training to be able to look the part for a fitness photo shoot (and for my cruise for spring break). I have started a fitness Instagram for anyone and everyone to follow me to get some workout ideas, motivation and more! My username is SoonToBeMooreFit (so go follow it!). One of my other dreams is to create some workout programs and sell them online for anyone who needs ideas or help in the gym and even in the kitchen. I have so many ideas stocked up in my brain that I cannot wait to be able to get them all started!

Do not be afraid or insecure to get into a gym. Go in there get on a treadmill, the step master or go pick up some weights. Everyone has to start somewhere! Do not be afraid of what people will say about you in the gym or if they are staring at you. I used to hate going to the gym alone because every time I would go pick up a weight I felt like everyone was staring at me and I hated it. I limited myself with what I could achieve because I was worried that someone would make fun of me while I was trying to workout. Who cares if someone stares at you! Atleast you’re in the gym working on your fitness! (get it?) 😉 And don’t forget, while you are in the gym the only competition there is, is between you and your mind telling you you can’t do it. Because you CAN, you can do anything you set your mind to! You cannot compete against others in the gym because their bodies are different than yours! If you put in hard work at the gym you will get the results that you want to see. It WILL take time to see those results because nothing happens overnight! So DO NOT quit just because you aren’t seeing the results you want to see! Your time will come and at some point when you look in that mirror you will be happy with what you see because you worked hard for that. There may be days that you don’t want to go to the gym but you’ll be happy once you go and kill that workout! You will never regret a workout that you did but you will ALWAYS regret a workout that you didn’t do. Get in the gym and work your butts off and be happy with what you see in the mirror! You only get one life and you only get one body to live it in so why not have it be a healthy body!

Oh, and if anyone wants to get trained online by me feel free to email me! 🙂 caschaeferfit@yahoo.com
